The G36C (C for "Compact") is a compact variant and a further development of the G36K. It has a shorter barrel than the G36K and a four-prong open-type flash hider or a birdcage-type flash hider. The extremely short barrel forced designers to move the gas block closer to the muzzle end and reduce the length of the gas piston operating rod. The handguard and stock were also shortened, and the fixed carry handle (with optics) was replaced with a carrying handle with an integrated MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail. The G36C was developed and produced in January 2001. The G36C is used by various military and law enforcement, for example, the German military or the UK Metropolitan Police in London (See Picture above). With full licensing from H&K, Umarex (Elite Force) proudly adorns this weapon with all the proper markings.

For those who never heard of Umarex (Elite Force), they are known to make realistic and high-performing airsoft guns. Their gas blowback technology is some of the most realistic on the airsoft market, creating various gas blowback airsoft guns.

The Umarex (Elite Force) G36C gas blowback rifle by VFC is a beautifully designed rifle with an entire polymer body designed to be robust for extended use. The fire and safety selector is ambidextrous and has controls on both sides of the receiver which is the same design as the original G3 selector. The Selector settings are marked with symbols in firing modes, consisting of safe, semi, two-round burst, and full auto. The stock, too, is multi-functional. Its ability to fold to the side shortens the weapon's overall length for use in tight areas. The rifle can also still fire with the stock collapsed. The G36C incorporates holes where assembly pins can be placed during weapon cleaning or maintenance to avoid getting lost easily. The G36C also has a metal 14mm CCW flash hider. The flash hider is locked on tight, so removing it may require a tool. The bolt release is very interesting on the G36C. The bolt release lever is located next to the trigger. So when you reinsert your loaded is just a simple push down on this leaver to send the bolt forward, making reloads faster than, say, on an M4 rifle. There are also a few sling points on the rifle, two on the front and one on the gun's stock. You will need a hook-style sling to be able to use the sling on this G36C.

Adding accessories to your G36C is Very easy. You have a picatinny rail on top so you can mount optics or a laser device, or if you want, you can attach Picatinny rails to the side and bottom of the handguard (These are not included with the Umarex (Elite Force) G36C and are sold separately). To secure the picatinny rail to your handguard, you have to line the hole on your picatinny rail and screw them into the corresponding holes on the handguard, and then you can mount a flashlight, foregrip, or laser device to the side or underneath the handguard.

The charging handle on the G36C has a unique design. The handle sits flush under the Picatinny rail allowing for it not to get in the way. To charge the handle, you need to pull the tab towards the end of the rifle either to the left or right, then pull back and let go. To lock the bolt to the rear, insert an empty magazine and pull the charging handle back or push up on the bolt release lever next to the trigger while pulling back on the charging handle. Doing one of these two methods will lock back your bolt.

The hop-up can be adjusted by Locking back the bolt and finding the hop-up adjuster under the pull tab on your charging handle. This style is new to the VFC G36 system because it is a slide adjustment instead of a wheel or hop-up that requires a tool. Sliding the adjuster forward adds more hop; sliding it back decreases the hop.

The G36C magazine is particularly remarkable on this gun, being made out of high-quality plastic and is made to last extended use. The first thing you notice about this magazine is the dummy rounds inside, which look fantastic even for being fake / dummy rounds. Also, like on the real G36, you can stack your magazine's side by side by the notches on the side of the magazine acting like a mag clamp, so in theory, if you wanted to stack ten mags Tougher, you can! However, keep in mind that these tabs can hinder you while looking for a mag pouch, so keep that in mind. Filling the magazine with gas is simple. The gas valve is located at the top of the mag. Holding the magazine facing downwards, fill the magazine for seven seconds. We find that this is the perfect amount of time to get the right amount of gas in the magazine.

The Blowback on the Umarex (Elite Force) G36C is one of the best for the G36 GBBRs out there. It is crisp and snappy and really packs a punch with every shot. When the trigger is pulled, it does not feel sluggish as its cycle rate is relatively high, so you can quickly get shots off on semi. On full auto, it's even better. When you mix the high cycle rate with the recoil, it is just a joy to shoot.

Taking apart this rifle is pretty simple. However, we always recommend that you err on the side of caution or hand it to a gunsmith to fix or clean your rifle if you are new to GBBRs. The takedown pins are located to the left and right of the fire selector. Removing these pins will allow you to remove the lower receiver to see the trigger box. Likewise, the pin on the handguard (just under the front sight) will allow you to remove the handguard and get better access to the flash hider.

The Umarex (Elite Force) G36C is one of the best gas blowback guns on the market, and we might even say that this replica would be an ideal choice to simulate a genuine G36 C for training or theatrical purposes. The high cycle rate and reliable performance make the G36C by Umarex (Elite Force) quite the shooter and is bound to be a conversation starter at any airsoft field or event.
