Can You Reuse Airsoft Shotgun Shells?

Most airsoft shotgun shells are indeed reusable. These shells can be reloaded with BB pellets just like an airsoft AEG magazine, making them convenient and cost-effective. However, it's important to note that some shell ejecting shotgun shells, particularly those designed to simulate realistic shells, may shoot out parts that cannot be reused. These shells are meant to provide an authentic shooting experience but may require special care and maintenance due to the components involved.

How Do Airsoft Shotgun Shells Work?

Airsoft shotgun shells are specially designed to mimic the functionality of real shotgun shells. They typically consist of a shell casing, a gas reservoir or spring mechanism, and a loading chamber for BB pellets. In gas-powered shotgun shells, a small amount of gas, such as green gas or CO2, is loaded into the reservoir. When the trigger is pulled, the gas is released, creating pressure that propels the BB pellets out of the shell. Gas-powered shotgun shells often require a gas reservoir adapter or a specific gas-powered shotgun to function properly. Spring-powered shotgun shells, on the other hand, rely on a spring mechanism. When the shotgun is cocked, the spring is compressed. When the trigger is pulled, the spring is released, pushing air forward and propelling the BB pellets out of the shell.

How To Load Airsoft Shotgun Shells?

To load an airsoft shotgun shell, BB pellets are typically inserted into the loading chamber located at the front or rear of the shell. The number of BBs that can be loaded depends on the shell's capacity, which can range from a few to several dozen rounds. APS Shells will work different from other brands, they will require a Wad Pack & Sealing Paper in order to keep the bbs inside the shell.
