Product Description:
After introducing the Saiga-12K gas airsoft shotgun, which features the "K" representing "Korotkaya" meaning "Short" in Russian, it was only natural for Tokyo Marui to create an even shorter version. Enter the Tokyo Marui Saiga-12 SBS. This variant functions similarly to its longer counterpart but offers the option for full-auto fire, as originally intended by Mikhail Kalashnikov. When firing, you can discharge 3 rounds per trigger pull in both semi-automatic and full-automatic modes. The shotgun delivers tight and accurate groupings, capable of placing all 3 BBs within a 1-inch group at 10 meters. Even when using weaker HFC134a gas, it provides a sharp recoil impulse.
Internally, aside from the difference in inner barrel length, the Tokyo Marui Saiga-12K and SBS share similar internal components. However, it is the external features that set the SBS apart. While the original Saiga-12K has a more traditional AK-style appearance, the SBS offers a different aesthetic. Although the design may appear outdated, it serves as a canvas for users to customize. The stock has been replaced with a foldable skeleton buffer tube, complemented by a retractable crane stock reminiscent of the AR-15. Additionally, the pistol grip has an A2-style design. These features allow for easy customization, enabling users to swap them out for their preferred AR-style stocks and grips, enhancing ergonomics and control. Furthermore, the SBS comes equipped with Picatinny rails at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions on the handguard, providing attachment points for accessories, a feature absent in the stock Saiga-12K.
Lastly, let's discuss the magazine. The gas magazine included with the Tokyo Marui Saiga-12 SBS has a larger capacity compared to the original Saiga-12K. It can hold 90 rounds instead of 45, allowing for 30 trigger pulls before requiring a reload. This doubles the original capacity, adding to the enjoyment of using the shotgun. Additionally, the Saiga-12 SBS magazine features a Celsius temperature thermometer inside. By pushing the tab located under the knocker valve and separating the shell, users can access the thermometer. Tokyo Marui advises maintaining the magazine temperature between 25-30 degrees Celsius for optimal performance. It is not recommended to operate the magazine above 40 degrees or below 15 degrees Celsius.
