The G36C is a compact version of the German Bundeswehr service rifle G36, designed as a short-barrel rifle (SBR) alternative. Compared to typical submachine guns, the G36C has a similar size but is chambered in the more powerful 5.56 NATO rifle rounds. This combination of a compact profile and rifle-caliber performance makes the G36C a popular choice with law enforcement, especially elite tactical units worldwide. The G36C's design represents Germany's efforts to provide a versatile and capable short-barrel rifle option for modern military and law enforcement operations, where a lightweight and maneuverable weapon is required without sacrificing firepower.

The Tokyo Marui G36C+ has received several internal and external updates. Internally, it features a FET (Field Effect Transistor) that provides extra safety measures, such as detecting damage, protecting the gun from overcharged batteries, and ensuring consistent semi-auto firing by preventing gear over-rotation. Tokyo Marui has also introduced a new MS LiPo battery that is compatible and recommended for use with this airsoft gun, though a normal Tamiya battery with the included adapter can also be used.
Externally, the G36C+ has undergone notable changes. The traditional carry handle has been replaced with a KAC-style top rail and iron sight set. The bottom Picatinny rails allow for the attachment of accessories like optics, lasers, and flashlights at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions. If you want mounting solutions on the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions, you'll need to purchase additional rails separately. The outer barrel is also threaded 14mm CCW, enabling the mounting of accessories such as tracers and muzzle devices.
