Product Description:
The
Tanaka Revolver M1917 Heavy Weight Gas Revolver faithfully replicates
the large-frame military revolver known as the Model 1917. Adopted by
the United States Military in 1917 during World War I, these revolvers
were chambered in .45 ACP or .45 Auto Rim and served as a supplement to
the standard issue M1911 pistols. Some M1917 revolvers were also
chambered in .455 Webley for use in the British military. Throughout
history, the M1917 saw action in World War II, the Korean War, the
Vietnam War, and even appeared in the "Indiana Jones" film franchise,
used by actor Harrison Ford.
The Tanaka M1917 Heavy Weight Gas Revolver is a remarkable replica of
this iconic military revolver. Despite being made of plastic, this
Heavy Weight Model was designed to have a realistic weight, giving it an
authentic feel. Tanaka has truly crafted a masterpiece that, at first
glance, appears to be a genuine metal gun. The detailed finish is so
impressive that even keen observers can be deceived, but in reality, the
revolver is constructed from high-quality heavyweight plastic. Don't
let the plastic material deceive you, as this gas revolver is far from
being "cheap." It carries a substantial weight, especially when combined
with various metal components, creating a convincing illusion of a real
metal firearm. Metal parts such as the hammer, trigger, and cylinder
contribute to its lifelike aesthetics, making it an excellent choice for
collectors, as well as for use in film or cosplay as a prop.
The trigger of this revolver provides a delightful shooting
experience. The double-action mechanism operates smoothly and directly,
and pulling the trigger slowly feels buttery-smooth without any gritty
sensations. When the hammer is pulled back, the trigger breaks softly,
and the sound of the cylinder rotating adds to the overall realism. This
exemplifies the effort that Tanaka has put into making this revolver
truly stand out.
Please note that this is a non-firing model gun, designed solely for
display and recreational purposes, rather than actual use as a
functioning firearm.
