Product Description:
The
Walther P38 was one of the four main pistols used by Nazi Germany
during World War 2, alongside the Walther PP/PPK, Mauser C96/M712
Broomhandle, and Luger P08. It served as the standard issue pistol for
the Wehrmacht during that era. The demand for P38 pistols was so high
that they were not only manufactured by Walther but also by Mauser,
Erste Nordbohmische Metallwarenfabrik, and Spreewerk factories.
Despite not being considered modern by today's standards, the Walther
P38 earned a reputation for its reliability. It was adopted by the
Austrian military upon its introduction and remained in service until
1980 when the Glock 17 pistol, known as the P80 in Austria, was
introduced. The design of the Walther P38 also influenced the famous
Beretta 92 series, which was adopted by the United States Military as
the M9 pistol.
The Maruzen P38 AC40.s gas airsoft pistol is a fully licensed replica
of the wartime Walther-produced P38. It faithfully recreates the
features of the original pistol. During the war, the P38 pistols did not
bear "Walther" markings to conceal their origins from allied forces.
Instead, they had manufacturer's codes engraved on them. The Maruzen
replica follows this detail accurately, with the "ac" code denoting it
as a Walther-made pistol. It also replicates the proof marks, including
the eagle symbol sitting on the number "359," indicating proof marking
by Walther.
The Maruzen P38 replica is primarily made of plastic to comply with
Japanese law, but it incorporates metal reinforcements and weights under
the faux Bakelite grips, providing a sturdy feel that can easily be
mistaken for an all-metal construction. Like the real pistol, it
features a smooth single-action and double-action trigger, allowing for
easy follow-up shots. The safety on this airsoft pistol functions as a
decocker, decocking the pistol when engaged while cocked.
With a capacity of 12+1 rounds, the Maruzen P38 replica is
recommended to be used with HFC134A or duster gas. Stronger gases like
green gas may cause increased wear and tear. The replica also includes
an adjustable hop-up, which can be adjusted from the breach using a
small Allen key.
