The Karabiner 98 kurz (K98k) was the standard service rifle for the German military during World War II. It featured a shorter 23.6-inch barrel while retaining the powerful 7.92x57mm Mauser cartridge. Approximately 14 million K98k rifles were produced, making it one of the most manufactured bolt-action rifles.
